Most of the original buildings of Philips no longer remain. One notable exception is the Licthtoren (Light Tower), which was built at the north end of Emmasingel, where testing of light bulbs, and later of other electronic products, was conducted. This is a photograph taken in 1936; the main Philips industrial complex is to the left, out of view along Emmasingel. The view is west, along Mathildelaan [street]. Courtesy, Frans van der Schoot.
